Latinx Professionals respects the privacy of every visitor to our websites and every user of our mobile apps. Your privacy is a priority, and we go to great lengths to protect it. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use information about our online visitors. We know you care about your information and we want you to be fully informed about our practices.

This Policy may be changed or updated from time to time. By visiting the Latinx Professionals at one of our websites or using one of our mobile apps, you accept the practices described in this Policy.

The Data We Collect

Our websites and mobile apps provide convenient ways for you to access our services and learn about important Latinx Professionals opportunities and events. We collect information about our online visitors both directly from our visitors and indirectly from other companies that provide data to us. We use this information to communicate with our supporters and clients and process their transactions. We do not sell it to other organizations.

When you use our websites or apps to make a financial contribution, register for a class or special event, sign up to volunteer, apply for a job, or make a blood donation appointment, we may ask you for your name, address, phone number(s), and other information relevant to the transaction. We will ask for standard credit card information when you make a financial donation, pay for a class, or make a purchase.

We obtain information about our online visitors from other sources as well. For example, we engage vendors that provide contact information and other data. We use this data to help us engage with people who may be interested in participating in Latinx Professionals activities or contributing to the Latinx Professionals mission.

We also collect non-personal information about our online visitors using “cookies”, pixels, web beacons, and other technologies that operate automatically when you visit our website. We use this information to give our website visitors a more relevant online experience and to help us make website improvements. The information helps us understand which parts of our websites are the most popular, where our online visitors are going, and how long they spend there. If you block cookies from us, however, you may not be able to see personalized content and our website may not function optimally.

Financial & In-Kind Donors 

Latinx Professionals is committed to respecting the privacy of its financial and in-kind donors, whether the donation is made online, by mail, or any other method. When you make a financial or in-kind donation, you provide your name and contact information. Financial donors provide standard payment information including, in many circumstances, credit card data. We protect your information in a variety of ways, as described below.

We use industry standard safeguards to protect your information. Many donors use credit cards for donations. We protect the security of credit card transactions using a number of measures such as encryption, access controls, network firewalls, and physical security. These measures make it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept the credit card information you send to us. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use encryption and other appropriate security measures.

We will not sell, share or trade our donors’ personally identifiable information with any other entity, except as described below. In addition, we will not send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations, unless a donor has given us specific permission to do so. Latinx Professionals has vendors that assist with processing and managing donations and donor data. We give these vendors access to donor data. Our vendors are bound by strict confidentiality rules and are permitted to use donor data only to support Latinx Professionals operations.

Memberships levels

Latinx Professionals website (“website”) has various areas of access for various levels of authorization. These areas and users presently are categorized as: the general public (“Public”), members (“Members”), chapter leaders and corporate management (“Managers”), and chapter partners and local partners (“Partners”). Public. Public users are not required to disclose any personal information in order to view most of the website content. Latinx Professionals may gather some personal identifiable information when it is voluntarily submitted by the user. The types of information Latinx Professionals might collect include, but are not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, and/or postal address. This information is used for its intended purpose and to better serve the users. All personally identifiable information obtained from users is treated with great care in order to protect your privacy and security. 

From time to time, Latinx Professionals may use your address, phone number, and/or e-mail address to provide you with updates and other information it thinks may be of interest to you. You may opt-out of such notices in the future by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email/s received. Latinx Professionals collects the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with it via e-mail. Latinx Professionals does not currently sell e-mail addresses to any third party. Latinx Professionals collects information volunteered by users in relation to an online survey and/or website registration. 

This information is kept confidential by Latinx Professionals and is not used for purposes outside of the intent of the survey or registration form. Members. Certain content or features are available only to current Latinx Professionals members in good standing who are registered with Latinx Professionals. In order to initiate or renew your Latinx Professionals membership, you will need to register by providing certain required personal information and you may be subject to payment of membership dues. 

If you register online using a credit card, your credit card information is not stored by Latinx Professionals. If you purchase a non-recurring annual membership online using a credit card, your credit card information is not stored by Latinx Professionals. Purchase of a recurring annual membership online using a credit card authorizes annual membership dues charged to your credit card. Latinx Professionals gathers certain information for purposes of internal administrative or informational contact; statistical reporting; research; and/or to determine membership eligibility. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Latinx Professionals reserves the right to contact you regarding your account and other minimally necessary administrative or legally required matters relevant to this website, Latinx Professionals, and/or services. 

Latinx Professionals collects and stores in a private, secure database additional demographic information (including, but not limited, to: address, birth date, gender, employer, education, certifications, specializations) to better understand the profile of its membership and to tailor its ongoing activities, alliances, services, features, benefits, marketing, and/or informational material and website content. Latinx Professionals may be asked to provide aggregate membership demographic data to existing and potential partners. 

Further, Latinx Professionals may be asked to provide aggregate website traffic and usage information to existing and potential partners. Latinx Professionals may also opt, from time to time, to share members’ contact information with select partners. In addition to the content available to the Public, Partners may be granted access to certain confidential content (such as resumes, aggregate membership statistics, and/or aggregate website traffic and usage information). Partners will not be granted full, unlimited access to Latinx Professionals entire membership database. Such information, access, and use will conform to the privacy policy set forth above pertaining to all members.

We use a variety of security measures to protect your data. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to help prevent unauthorized access to and improper use of personally identifiable information.

We may enter your information into one of our databases so we can contact you to obtain your input, provide information about our programs and events, request donations, or provide a more personalized online experience.

The Latinx Professionals does not sell, trade, or share our donors’ personally identifiable information with any other entity, except as described below. We do not send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations unless the donor has given us specific permission to do so.

On occasion, the Latinx Professionals may share your information with our vendors and other partners that help us with our activities and programs. For example, we share information with vendors that help us fulfill orders, manage data, and process donations and credit card payments. These vendors are bound by strict confidentiality rules and are permitted to use the information only to support Latinx Professionals operations. We also disclose information as required by law.

We have procedures to check for errors, and our systems are periodically audited to make sure we process your information securely and accurately. Note to Parents About Our Privacy Policy

Latinx Professionals has a variety of programs for children. We hope that children and parents will visit our websites and use our mobile apps together, so they can jointly learn about Latinx Professionals and opportunities for children to participate. Latinx Professionals does not intentionally collect personal information from people under age 13.

Promotional Emails

We may send you e-mails with promotional offers, special event information, sales notifications or other messages only if you opt-in to receiving such e-mails. If you would no longer like to receive such e-mails from us, please send us an e-mail with the subject line “Unsubscribe” at info@latinaprofessionals.org. Your e-mail address will be removed from our marketing list. Please allow us a reasonable period of time in order to satisfy your request, as some promotions may already be in process.

Email

We appreciate your questions and comments about our website and services and welcome your email messages to mailboxes listed on our website. We will share your messages with those within and outside our organization who may be able to address the issues contained in your message. We will keep a copy of your message until we have had an opportunity to address your concerns. We may archive your message for a certain period of time or discard it, but your email message will not be used for any other purpose.
